• You can take raloxifene at any time of day, with or without food, but you should take it at the same time every day. This will help you remember to take your medicine.

• Raloxifene can cause hot flashes. Avoid drinking alcohol and caffeine and eating spicy foods, which can make hot flashes worse.

• Raloxifene can increase the risk of blood clots, especially during long periods of immobility. Take frequent breaks during long car rides and get up and walk around periodically on long plane rides.

• Tell your healthcare provider if you will be immobile for any reason, such as due to an upcoming surgery. Your provider will likely recommend temporarily stopping raloxifene treatment until you are fully ambulatory again.
