Ranolazine (Ranexa) Side Effects

Possible side effects of ranolazine are listed below. Tell your doctor if they are severe or continue after a few days:

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Constipation

Rarely, ranolazine can cause other side effects that are more serious. Call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical attention if you develop the following symptoms:

• Fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
• Trouble breathing
• Fainting or loss of consciousness

Ranolazine (Ranexa) Overdose: In case of an overdose, immediately call your doctor or the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has trouble breathing, cannot be awakened, has collapsed, or has had a seizure. Signs and symptoms of a ranolazine overdose may include dizziness, nausea, vomiting, double vision, confusion, uncontrolled shaking, pain, burning or tingling in the hands and feet, trouble speaking, and hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that don’t exist).
