Shingrix Tips from Pharmacists

  • Before receiving any vaccine, including Shingrix, remember to keep a record of all your immunization practices and present it to your doctor or pharmacist to ensure that you are getting them all on schedule.

  • Inform your healthcare professional if you believe you are due for other vaccines. Your doctor can verify if you can take them on the same day as the shingles vaccine or not.

  • Remember to schedule your second dose of Shingrix after taking your first dose. You will require two doses of this vaccination, normally spaced two to six months apart, for full disease control.

  • Immediately after getting Shingrix, it's typical to feel symptoms like a sore arm, fatigue, headache, or fever. Usually, these symptoms persist for two to three days. But if they persist longer than that, inform your healthcare practitioner.

  • If you develop a severe adverse reaction to Shingrix, you or your healthcare provider can report vaccine adverse events to the vaccine adverse event reporting system (VAERS) website or by calling 1-800-822-7967.
