  • Take silodosin with food. Taking this medicine on an empty stomach may cause more severe side effects.

  • If you have trouble swallowing silodosin capsules, you can open the capsule and sprinkle the contents on some applesauce.

  • Silodosin can cause dizziness due to a sudden drop in blood pressure, especially when you get out of bed or go from a sitting or lying position to standing. Get up slowly and hold onto something for support to lower the risk of falls.

  • Avoid drinking alcohol while on silodosin. Alcohol can make side effects like dizziness worse.

  • Dizziness is a common side effect of silodosin. Be cautious while driving or doing other hazardous activities until you know how the drug affects you.
