What may interact with Slynd?

Do not take this medicine with any of the following medications:

-atazanavir; cobicistat
-bosentan
-fosamprenavir


This medicine may also interact with the following medications:

-aprepitant
-barbiturates like phenobarbital, primidone
-carbamazepine
-certain antibiotics like clarithromycin, rifampin, rifabutin, rifapentine
-certain antivirals for HIV or hepatitis
-certain diuretics like amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene
-certain medicines for fungal infections like griseofulvin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole
-certain medicines for blood pressure, heart disease
-cyclosporine
-felbamate
-heparin
-medicines for diabetes
-modafinil
-NSAIDs, medicines for pain and inflammation, like ibuprofen or naproxen
-oxcarbazepine
-phenytoin
-potassium supplements
-rufinamide
-St. John''s wort
-topiramate

What should I tell my health care provider before I take Slynd?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

-abnormal vaginal bleeding
-adrenal gland disease
-blood vessel disease or blood clots
-breast, cervical, endometrial, ovarian, liver, or uterine cancer
-diabetes
-heart disease or recent heart attack
-high potassium level
-kidney disease
-liver disease
-mental depression
-migraine headaches
-stroke
-an unusual or allergic reaction to drospirenone, progestins, or other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-breast-feeding

What should I watch for while using Slynd?

Visit your doctor or health care professional for regular checks on your progress. You will need a regular breast and pelvic exam and Pap smear while on this medicine. You may need blood work done while you are taking this medicine.

If you have any reason to think you are pregnant, stop taking this medicine right away and contact your doctor or health care professional.

This medicine does not protect you against HIV infection (AIDS) or any other sexually transmitted diseases.

If you are going to have elective surgery, you may need to stop taking this medicine before the surgery. Consult your health care professional for advice.

Where should I keep my medicine?

Keep out of the reach of children.

Store at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
