Sulfacetamide Sodium - Sulfur Side (Plexion) Effects

Possible side effects of sulfacetamide sodium-sulfur are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if these side effects are severe or persistent:

  • Local skin irritation (itching, redness, swelling)

Rarely, sulfacetamide sodium-sulfur can cause more serious side effects, including a serious allergic reaction. Stop using sulfacetamide sodium-sulfur and call your doctor promptly or seek emergency medical attention if you develop the following serious symptoms:

  • Skin rash, hives, itching, blistering, peeling
  • Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, or throat

Sulfacetamide sodium-sulfur Overdose: In case someone swallows sulfacetamide sodium-sulfur, call your health care professional or seek medical help immediately. You can also call your local poison control center or the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If a person cannot be awakened, has trouble breathing, has collapsed, or has had a seizure, call 911.
