Symbicort Side Effects
Some of the common side effects of Symbicort include:
- Nasopharyngitis and nasal congestion (cold and stuffy nose)
- Pharyngolaryngeal pain (nasal cavity and sinus pain)
- Headache
- Upper respiratory tract infection
- Influenza (flu symptoms)
- Back pain
- Stomach discomfort
- Vomiting
These Symbicort side effects do not usually require medical attention; however, you should report them to your prescribing physician if they are severe or if the side effects persist after a few days.
Some of the adverse effects of Symbicort are more serious. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you experience or notice:
- White patches in your mouth or tongue
- Signs of infection such as fever, throat pain, throat irritation
- Nervousness, mood changes, or depression
- Trouble sleeping
- Vision problems such as blurred vision or tunnel vision
- Increased thirst, increased urination
- Fruity breath odor
- Shaking or tremors
The above list may not include all the potential side effects of Symbicort. Tell your doctor if you have severe side effects or if the side effects do not get better with time. Symbicort Overdose: In case of a known or suspected Symbicort overdose, call the poison control helpline at 1-800-222-1222 or call 911. Symptoms of a Symbicort overdose may include drowsiness, restlessness, body aches, muscle weakness, unusual tiredness, skin rash, stomach discomfort, and mental depression.
