Terazosin Tips from Pharmacists

  • You can take terazosin with or without food. If it causes stomach upset, taking it with food might help.

  • Terazosin can cause low blood pressure. Get up slowly from lying or sitting position to standing. Rest your feet on the floor for a few minutes before getting out of bed. Tell your doctor if you feel lightheaded or dizzy or faint while on terazosin.

  • Terazosin can cause blurred vision and dizziness. Do not drive or do other potentially hazardous activities until you know how it affects you.

  • Call your doctor if you miss taking terazosin for more than 2 days. You may need to restart the medicine at a lower dose again.

  • It can take 4-6 weeks for terazosin to have its full effect. Continue taking the medicine even if your BPH symptoms and/or blood pressure are controlled.
