Warnings
What may interact with Terbutaline?
Do not take this medicine with any of the following medications:
-cocaine
-MAOIs like Carbex, Eldepryl, Marplan, Nardil, and Parnate
-probucol
-procarbazine
This medicine may also interact with the following medications:
-heart medicines
-medicines for colds or breathing difficulties
-medicines for high blood pressure
-some medicines for mental depression or sleep
-stimulants
What should I tell my health care provider before I take Terbutaline?
They need to know if you have any of the following conditions:
-diabetes (high blood sugar)
-heart disease
-high blood pressure
-irregular heartbeat or rhythm
-pheochromocytoma
-seizures
-thyroid disease
-an unusual or allergic reaction to terbutaline, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
-pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-breast-feeding
What should I watch for while using Terbutaline?
Visit your health care provider for regular checks on your progress. Tell your health care provider if your symptoms do not start to get better or if they get worse.
You and your health care provider should develop an Asthma Action Plan that is just for you. Be sure to know what to do if you are in the yellow (asthma is getting worse) or red (medical alert) zones.
Your mouth may get dry. Chewing sugarless gum or sucking hard candy and drinking plenty of water may help. Contact your health care provider if the problem does not go away or is severe.
Where should I keep my medicine?
Keep out of the reach of children.
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Protect from light. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
