Terconazole Tips from Pharmacists
Follow your doctor’s instructions closely. Use terconazole as long as your doctor has directed it. Don’t stop using terconazole until you finish the prescribed treatment, even if your symptoms disappear.
Do not use a different or additional medication for your yeast infection without consulting with your doctor.
Gently insert the cream applicator or vaginal suppository. If you encounter resistance, don’t push. Call your doctor.
Keep your genital area clean and dry. Get out of wet bathing suits and exercise clothes as soon as possible.
To prevent re-infecting yourself, clean the terconazole vaginal cream applicator thoroughly with warm soapy water after every use.
Wear an absorbent panty liner to prevent staining your clothes from leaked terconazole.
Avoid getting out of bed after inserting terconazole cream or suppository, except to wash your hands.
If you get your period while using terconazole, continue using the medicine. However, use a sanitary napkin and not a tampon during your period. Tampons can absorb the medicine and make it less effective.
Wear cotton underwear and loose-fitting clothing. Avoid wearing tight jeans, nylon underwear, pantyhose, etc.
