Tolterodine (Detrol LA) Side Effects

Possible side effects of tolterodine are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if they are severe or persist after a few days.

• Dry mouth
• Dry eyes
• Dry skin
• Headache
• Heartburn
• Constipation
• Diarrhea
• Stomach pain
• Joint pain
• Excessive tiredness
• Problems with emptying the bladder
• Pain with urination
• Weight gain
• Anxiety 

Some of the side effects of tolterodine are more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you develop the following effects: 

• Severe constipation
• Signs of a serious allergic reaction (skin rash, hives, itching)
• Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, or throat
• Difficulty breathing or swallowing

Call 911 if a person has collapsed, stopped breathing, had a seizure, or is not responding.
