Torsemide (Soaanz) Side Effects
Common side effects of torsemide are listed below. Consult your doctor for medical advice about side effects if they are severe or do not go away in a few days after your body adjusts to the medicine.
- Passing urine frequently
- Cough
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Ringing in the ears
- Hearing loss
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Upset stomach
Sometimes, torsemide can cause more serious side effects. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you develop the following symptoms:
- Signs of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance such as dry mouth, increased thirst, unusual tiredness, weakness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, confusion, restlessness, muscle weakness, muscle pain, muscle cramps, fast heartbeat
- Sudden or severe weight loss
- Blood in vomit
- Chest pain
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Skin rash, hives, itching, blistering or peeling skin
- Persistent stomach pain that may spread to the back
The above list may not include all the potential side effects of torsemide. Call your doctor if you have any unusual side effects or if the side effects do not get better over time. You can also report unusual side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.
Torsemide (Soaanz) Overdose: In case of a known or suspected overdose of torsemide, call your doctor immediately or call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. If a person has collapsed, stopped responding, stopped breathing, or had a seizure, call 911. Symptoms of overdose may include blurred vision, dizziness, fast heartbeat or weak pulse, rapid breathing, decreased urination, confusion, sunken eyes, wrinkled skin, and excessive perspiration (sweating).
