Torsemide (Soaanz) Uses

Torsemide is used to treat excess fluid (edema) caused by heart failure and kidney disease. It is also sometimes used to treat fluid retention related to liver disease. Torsemide may also be prescribed to treat hypertension (high blood pressure).

Torsemide (Soaanz) Mechanism of Action

Torsemide works by helping the kidneys get rid of excess salt and water from the body in the urine.

Torsemide (Soaanz) Doses

Torsemide is available as 20 mg, 40 mg, and 60 mg tablets. The usual starting dose of torsemide is 20 mg once daily. This dose can be increased, if needed, based on response. Doses above 200 mg daily have not been studied for safety or efficacy.
