Travoprost (Travatan Z) Side Effects

Possible side effects of travoprost are listed below. Tell your doctor if these side effects are severe or do not go away in a few days. 

  • Temporary blurred vision or decreased vision
  • Burning in the eye, eye pain, eye discomfort, or eye irritation
  • Dry eye
  • Excessive tearing
  • Grittiness in the eye
  • Headache

Rarely, travoprost can cause more serious side effects. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop the following symptoms:

  • Light sensitivity
  • Pink eye
  • Abnormal vision
  • Eye redness or eye swelling in the eyelid
  • Signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction (swelling, difficulty breathing)

Travoprost (Travatan Z) Overdose: In case of accidental oral ingestion of travoprost, contact your doctor immediately. You can also call the National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person cannot be awakened, has trouble breathing, has collapsed, or has had a seizure.
