• Swallow the extended-release capsules of trospium whole. Do not cut, crush, or chew the capsules.

• Avoid drinking alcohol within 2 hours of taking a trospium dose.

• Trospium can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and blurred vision. Be careful while driving, operating machinery, and doing other potentially hazardous activities until you know how it affects you.

• Trospium can make it harder for your body to cool down and increase your risk of heat stroke. Stay well hydrated while on this medicine. Avoid exposure to extreme heat. 

• If dry mouth bothers you, try sucking on hard candy or sugar-free chewing gum.
