Trospium Side Effects
Possible side effects of trospium are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice if they are severe or persist after a few days.
- Dry mouth
- Dry eyes
- Dry nose
- Dry skin
- Headache
- Gas
- Constipation
- Confusion
Some of the side effects of trospium are more serious. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical help if you develop the following symptoms:
- Skin rash, hives, itching (signs of a serious allergic reaction)
- Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, or throat
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Difficulty urinating
- Severe constipation
- Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren’t there)
The above list may not include all the possible adverse reactions of trospium. Contact your healthcare provider if the adverse effects are unusual or severe or they do not get better over time. You can also report unusual or severe adverse effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.
Trospium Overdose: In case of an overdose of trospium, call your doctor immediately. You can also call your local poison control center or the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person has collapsed, stopped breathing, had a seizure, or is not responding. Signs and symptoms of an overdose may include fast or irregular heartbeat, dilated (widened) pupils, or sensitivity to light.
