Trulicity Side Effects

Trulicity can cause fluctuations in blood sugar levels, including high and low blood sugar. You should know the low and high blood sugar symptoms and what to do if you experience them.

Some of the common side effects of Trulicity are listed below. Tell your doctor if you have severe gastrointestinal adverse reactions or if they do not go away after a few days.

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting 
  • Diarrhea
  • Stomach pain
  • Heartburn
  • Reduced appetite
  • Tiredness

Trulicity can also cause more serious side effects in a small number of people. Stop using Trulicity and call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical care if you experience symptoms such as:

  • Persistent severe abdominal pain in the upper left or middle part of the abdomen that may spread to the back 
  • Vomiting
  • Signs and symptoms of serious allergic reactions such as rash, hives, itching
  • Swelling of the face, eyes, mouth, throat, or tongue
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Vision changes
  • Fast heartbeat

The above list may not include all the potential side effects of Trulicity. Call your doctor if you experience any severe or unusual symptoms. You can also report unusual side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Trulicity Overdose: In case of a known or suspected overdose, call your doctor, the local poison control center, or the provincial poison control center immediately. If the person can’t be awakened, has had a seizure, or has trouble breathing, call 911. Symptoms of a Trulicity overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and symptoms of low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, fast heartbeat, confusion, excessive hunger).
