Viibryd Side Effects

Common side effects of Viibryd are listed below. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects if they are severe or continue after a few days.

  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Heartburn
  • Gas
  • Increased appetite
  • Pain, burning, or tingling in the hands or feet
  • Uncontrolled shaking of any part of the body
  • Joint pain
  • Unusual or abnormal dreams
  • Sexual problems in men and women, including decreased libido (sex drive), erectile dysfunction (inability to get or keep an erection), delayed or absent ejaculation, delayed orgasm, or inability to have an orgasm 

Some of the adverse effects of Viibryd are more serious. Call your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical care if you develop the following serious symptoms:

  • Skin rash, hives, itching (signs of an allergic reaction)
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, hands, or feet
  • Difficulty breathing or swallowing
  • Fever, sweating, fast or irregular heartbeat, muscle twitching, muscle stiffness, confusion, agitation, hallucinations, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, poor coordination
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising, such as small red or purple spots on the skin or nosebleeds
  • Headache
  • Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there)
  • Memory problems
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Tiredness or weakness
  • Increased falls or problems with coordination
  • Seizures
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Fainting

The above list may not include all the potential side effects of Viibryd. Talk to your doctor if you have severe side effects or your symptoms do not improve over time. You can also report unusual Viibryd side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Viibryd Overdose: In case of a known or suspected Viibryd overdose, call your doctor immediately. You can also call your local poison control center or the national poison control center on 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if a person cannot be awakened, has collapsed, has trouble breathing, or has had a seizure. Signs and symptoms of a Viibryd overdose may include fever, sweating, excessive tiredness, fast or irregular heartbeat, muscle twitching, muscle stiffness, loss of coordination, confusion, restlessness, hallucinations, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
