What is atenolol (Tenormin)?
LISINOPRIL (lye sin oh pril) is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor or ACE inhibitor. It is a prescription oral medication that is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and congestive heart failure. Lisinopril has also been shown to improve life expectancy post-myocardial infarction (after a heart attack).
Atenolol (uh teh nuh lawl) belongs to a group of drugs called beta-blockers. It is used for the treatment of high blood pressure. Atenolol is also used to treat angina pectoris (chest pain) and to increase the chances of survival in patients who have suffered a heart attack.

Who can take atenolol (Tenormin)?
Atenolol is approved for use in adults over the age of 18 years. The safety and effectiveness of atenolol have not been established in children.
