How To Use Clindamycin and Benzoyl Peroxide (Benzaclin)

Clindamycin and benzoyl [peroxide gel should be applied to acne lesions twice a day, morning and evening. Gently wash your skin with mild soap and warm water, pat dry with a clean towel, and apply a thin layer of the gel on the affected areas. 

Read the prescription label carefully and use clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide exactly as prescribed by your health care professional. Do not use more of the medicine or apply it more frequently than your doctor tells you. 

Clindamycin benzoyl peroxide gel is for external use on the skin only. Do not swallow this medicine or allow it to get into your eyes, nose, or mouth. If it gets into your eyes, wash it out with warm water.

Missed dose: If you forget to apply clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply extra medicine to make up for a missed application.

Storage: Store clindamycin benzoyl peroxide gel at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in its original container, tightly closed. Do not store medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets. Discard any unused product after 10 weeks and any unused medication after the expiration date.

Unused medicine: Unused clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide in the trash or flush it down the toilet.
