Clindamycin and Benzoyl Peroxide (Benzaclin) Uses

The combination of clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide is used to treat non-inflammatory and inflammatory acne vulgaris.

Clindamycin and Benzoyl Peroxide (Benzaclin) Mechanism of Action

Clindamycin is a topical antibiotic. Benzoyl peroxide is a topical antiseptic with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. These medications help to treat acne vulgaris by preventing bacterial protein synthesis and killing the bacteria that cause acne.

Clindamycin and Benzoyl Peroxide (Benzaclin) Doses

The BenzaClin topical gel contains 1% clindamycin phosphate and 5% benzoyl peroxide. It should be applied to the affected areas twice daily, morning and evening.
