Clomiphene is a weak estrogen-like hormone that acts on estrogen receptors in the pituitary gland and hypothalamus in the brain. Clomiphene comes in the form of a tablet to be taken once a day by mouth for a 5-day cycle. Your healthcare provider will discuss proper timing with you. Clomid use is typically started on day 5 of your menstrual cycle.
