How To Use Fluorometholone (FML)
Read the prescription label carefully and use fluorometholone exactly as instructed by your doctor. Do not change the dose or dosing frequency unless your doctor tells you. Do not use fluorometholone for longer than the prescribed duration. This medicine can result in sufficient systemic absorption and produce detectable quantities in blood. Like systemically administered corticosteroids, it can be harmful if used long-term.

Fluorometholone is only for application to the eye. Do not swallow this medicine or apply it to any other part of the body such as the mouth or nose.
Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 2 days of using fluorometholone. Do not stop using the medicine prematurely. If you have been using fluorometholone for a long time, do not stop using it suddenly. Your doctor will tell you how to gradually decrease the frequency of applications.
Missed dose: If you forget a dose of fluorometholone, apply the medicine as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and apply the next dose according to your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply a double dose or use extra medicine to make up for a missed dose.
Storage: Store fluorometholone at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in a tightly closed container. Do not store medications in the bathroom, where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.
Unused medicine: Unused or expired fluorometholone should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them.
