Levetiracetam (Keppra) Drug Class

Levetiracetam (lee-veh-tye-rah-se-tam) belongs to a group of medicines called anticonvulsants or antiepileptic drugs.

Levetiracetam (Keppra) Age Range

Levetiracetam is approved for use in adults, children, and infants 1 month of age and older to treat partial seizures. It is also used to treat myoclonic seizures in people 12 years of age and older with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. In addition, levetiracetam may be prescribed to adults and children 6 years of age and older for seizure control of generalized tonic clonic seizures.
