Lidocaine Prilocaine Tips from Pharmacists
Wash your hands before and after application of the topical cream (unless the treated area is on your hands).
Do not apply lidocaine prilocaine to open wounds or inflamed skin.
Avoid touching your eyes. This medication can cause severe eye irritation. Wash your eyes with water immediately in case of accidental exposure and eye irritation.
You can injure yourself while your skin is numb. Until the numbness wears off, do not scratch your skin or expose it to cold objects to avoid injury.
Some lidocaine prilocaine products come in the form of kits with additional wound care ingredients. Make sure you understand how to use them correctly.
