Lidocaine Prilocaine Side Effects
Possible side effects of lidocaine prilocaine are listed below. Tell your doctor if these side effects are severe or continue after a few days.
Local reaction at the application site (swelling, burning, itching, or skin rash)
Changes in skin color at the application site
Rarely, lidocaine prilocaine can cause serious adverse reactions. Call your doctor right away or seek emergency medical attention if you develop:
- An unusual or allergic reaction with severe skin rash, hives, itching
- Chest pain or chest tightness
- Cough
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, tongue, or genitals (signs of allergic reactions)
- Severe dizziness or fainting
- Stuffy nose
The above list may not include all the potential side effects of lidocaine prilocaine. Contact your healthcare provider if your side effects are unusual or severe or they do not get better over time. You can also report unusual side effects to the Food and Drug Administration at 1-800-FDA-1088.
Lidocaine prilocaine Overdose: In case of an overdose of lidocaine prilocaine, call your doctor immediately. You can also call the national poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Call 911 if someone has collapsed, stopped breathing, is unresponsive, or has had a seizure.
