Microgestin Fe Tips from Pharmacists

  • Microgestin Fe is used for the prevention of pregnancy; however, it does not provide protection to you or your partner against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases.

  • Take this medicine at the same time each day and in the order directed on the package. If you miss your pills, there is a risk that you can get pregnant.

  • Tell your doctor if you experience any unusual vaginal bleeding or spotting. If you experience spotting or light bleeding in between periods, keep taking microgestin Fe. If the bleeding or spotting persists, inform your doctor.

  • Make sure to visit your doctor for yearly exams so they can keep track of any health conditions that can be affected by the use of this drug.

  • If you suffer depression symptoms or a deterioration of your mood while using microgestin Fe, consult your doctor. If you have severe depression, your doctor may advise you to discontinue using this medicine.

  • Consult your doctor before starting microgestin Fe if you are breastfeeding your child. This medication may reduce breast milk production. A small amount passes into breast milk and may affect your baby.
