Microgestin Fe Adverse Effects

Possible side effects of microgestin Fe are listed below. Tell your doctor if they are severe or do not go away after a few days.

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Bloated stomach or cramping
  • Gum swelling
  • Black/brown patches on skin
  • Acne
  • Hair growth in abnormal places
  • Appetite changes
  • Weight changes
  • Absent, missed, irregular or painful periods
  • Breakthrough bleeding or spotting between menstrual periods
  • Vaginal redness, irritation, burning, or itching 
  • Thick white vaginal discharge
  • Breast tenderness, enlargement or discharge

Other more serious side effects of microgestin Fe are listed below. Call your doctor right away if you experience side effects such as:

  • Severe headache
  • Severe vomiting
  • Severe stomach pain
  • Lightheadedness or dizziness 
  • Weakness or numbness or pain in one arm or leg
  • Trouble speaking
  • Heaviness or tightness in the chest or crushing chest pain
  • Vomiting of blood
  • Trouble breathing
  • Vision changes such as double vision, partial or complete loss of vision or double vision
  • Bulging of eyes
  • Yellow eyes or skin
  • Fever
  • Rash
  • Loss of appetite
  • Excessive weakness or tiredness
  • Dark urine
  • Light-colored stool
  • Swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
  • Depression or other mood changes
  • Heavy vaginal bleeding that lasts more than 7 days in a row

Microgestin Fe Overdose: In case of a known or suspected overdose, call your doctor or the local poison control center immediately. If the person can’t be awakened, has had a seizure, or has trouble breathing, call 911. An overdose of microgestin Fe can cause nausea and vaginal bleeding.
