Rabeprazole (Aciphex) Tips from Pharmacists
You can take rabeprazole for treatment of GERD with or without food. However, if you are taking it to treat H. pylori, take it with your morning and evening meals.
Do not cut, crush, or chew the rabeprazole delayed release tablet.
Do not take rabeprazole for longer than required. Long-term use of this medication is associated with serious health risks including bone fractures.
Rabeprazole does not work immediately. You can take antacids such as Tums for instant relief from GERD symptoms.
