How To Use Hydrocortisone-Pramoxine (Analpram Hc)

Apply hydrocortisone pramoxine to the affected area 3-4 times a day. Use the medicine externally only. Do not use your fingers to put the medicine inside your rectum.

Read the prescription label carefully and use Analpram HC cream exactly as directed. Do not use more of the product or use it more frequently than prescribed. Only apply the medicine on normal intact skin. Do not apply it to blistered, broken, or damaged skin.

To apply hydrocortisone pramoxine to the anal area:

1. Wash your hands with soap and water.
2. Clean the rectal area with mild soap and warm water. Pat dry with a clean cloth or tissue.
3. Apply a thin film of cream externally to the affected skin.
4. Wash your hands.

Call your doctor if you do not see an improvement in your symptoms after using hydrocortisone pramoxine for 7 days. Do not use it for more than 14 days without your doctor’s approval. You may have dermatological infections that need appropriate therapy with antibiotics or a more severe skin condition that needs to be treated with more potent steroids. 

The use of an occlusive dressing with steroid creams can increase the risk of serious side effects. Do not cover the treated skin area with an occlusive dressing. Dressings that do not allow air or moisture to penetrate constitute occlusive dressings. However, you may use an occlusive dressing if you are using hydrocortisone and pramoxine to treat psoriasis or other recalcitrant skin conditions. If an infection develops, you will have to stop using occlusive dressings.

Missed dose: If you miss an application of hydrocortisone pramoxine, use it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed application and use the medicine according to your regular schedule. Do not apply extra medicine to make up for a missed application.

Storage: Store hydrocortisone pramoxine at room temperature (between 15-30° C or 59-86° F) away from moisture, heat, and direct light in its original container. Do not store medications in the bathroom where they can be exposed to moisture and heat. Keep all medications safely out of reach of children and pets.

Unused medicine: Unused hydrocortisone pramoxine should be disposed of in a way that children, other people, and pets cannot get to them. Do not throw hydrocortisone pramoxine in the trash or flush it down the toilet.
